Blue Monday - Twin's Birthday

Welcome! It's Blue Monday! It's Memorial Day. I remember.

For instructions, just click here.

Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and wishing them a Happy Blue Monday!

Exciting times were had at my house! This past Thursday was my birthday! That evening, my first-born grandchild, Lauren, and her boyfriend, Christian, made me these gorgeous Blue Cake Pops. What a delightful presentation.

I hope you notice I'm wearing a Blue shirt. So is Lauren.

They baked a cake and then crumbled it up, mixed it with icing, and formed balls to be stuck on the ends of lollipop sticks. They dipped the pops into melted white chocolate, and some were colored a beautiful Turquoise Blue.

Here's a close-up of the yummy confections. They did such an excellent job.

The following day, my daughter, Debi, gave us a terrific party; we had games and prizes!
She made dinner for the whole gang!

Here is Debi with me, my son, Allen, and Johnny.
We're all wearing a shade of beautiful Blue.

(Those pictures on the wall are of our grandchildren.)

I have a twin, so it was his birthday too. He came with his wife and two sons.
We had a packed house. I loved it!

My daughter-in-law made our favorite birthday cakes.
She made a banana cake for my brother and a coconut cake for me!

Here I am with my twin. He's MUCH older than I. (Ahem.)

What a super day!

Happy Blue Monday!

Oh what a party. Fun, games and individual birthday cakes. Your DIL is a special person. How wonderful to be surrounded by loved ones on your special day.

We are having a great time here in Maine. The weather is chilly but we are 'chillin' so it is all good.

Fantastic looking family. How sweet of your grandchildren to make the cake balls (thats what we call them). We ususally just make them and serve them without the sticks, but I love this idea. How wonderful everyone got their own favorite dessert. Happy Memorial Day.

Sally, I am sorry I missed your special day. Sounds like it went very well without me. That is just the neatest idea they did on the cake balls. Time has been kind to you. You and your brother look so good. It was a pleasure meeting all your family.
