Pink Saturday - Birthday Party at the Salon

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound hosts Pink Saturday. Stop by her place to see the many other Pretty Pink items that Precious Pink Participating People are Providing.

I went to get a hair cut at the beauty parlor yesterday. This small hibiscus tree in full bloom is just outside the door. Isn't it pretty? It's October in South Florida--I love it!

Here's a close-up of the blooms. There are so many on such a little tree.

When I opened the door, I got a surprise. Music, food, and so many people were crambed into the shop. There was a Pink birthday party going on for an eleven-year-old.

All her friends were getting their nails polished (bright blue and green) and their hair washed and blown out. There were two hairdressers working full time at a fast pace. It was hopping! I didn't have their parents' permissions, so I couldn't take their pictures. Isn't this a neat idea for a birthday party?

There were so many things to eat and drink for the children and the adults.

Here's the birthday girl before her hair is done. She told me her name is "Mary Ann," and she let me take pictures for my blog! She's a beautiful young lady even with wet hair. She was having a blast, dancing to the music, visiting with her friends, munching on the snacks!

I wanted to wait and get an "after" picture of Mary Ann, but I had a husband waiting for his dinner. I guess you'll just have to use your imagination.

It's almost time for Blue Monday.

What a really wonderful idea for the birthday party. I love visits to a beauty salon - and being around young people. Also, I am pink with envy over the hibiscus plants growing in Florida. We had our first frost.

I once took my little grand daughter to a store in the mall where they made the up,fixed their hair and dressed them in fun clothes... My girlfriend took her daughter and the 2 of them had such a grand time.. A day of beauty is such a good idea for little girls...Thanks for the great post

What a fun way to spend a birthday -- getting pampered. Lucky girls!

That hibiscus is stunning. That is one thing I do miss about living in southern California -- the ability to grow anything, any time.

What a Pink Saturday celebration!

My cousin had a birthday party at a salon once, back when she was pretty young (around age 6 or possibly younger), and we had a blast! We all got our nails painted and our makeup and hair done, something kids that little never really got to do.

And those flowers outside of the salon are just gorgeous.

Looksl like you went there at just the right time. It was nice of Mary Ann to let you take her picture. I'll be she could hardly wait to see it on your blog. The flowers outside are beautiful.
